Egypt’s Petroleum Marine Services (PMS) has received a mandate from the Gulf of Suez Petroleum Company (GUPCO) to carry out marine works for the second phase of the North Safa offshore field development in the Gulf of Suez.
According to a statement from the petroleum ministry on Thursday, the project aims to enhance the capacity and efficiency of the North Safa production platform and equip it with the necessary facilities to start crude oil production from the field’s second phase.
The award follows PMS’s completion of the first phase, which involved installing an offshore platform weighing more than 560 tonnes at a depth of 55 metres.
The contract reinforces PMS’s role as a key contractor for strategic offshore projects in Egypt and abroad, the ministry added.
