Egyptian presidential candidate Hamdeen Sabahi spoke to Egyptian expat voters on Monday via videoconference, Al-Ahram’s Arabic website reported.
Egyptian expats are the first to cast their ballots worldwide in Egyptian embassies from 15 to 18 May.
“We ask the Egyptians abroad to participate in future policies,” he said.
Videoconferencing is a new technique to be used in Egyptian elections.
Sabahi’s sole competitor, former army chief Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi used videoconferencing on Monday to speak to the Upper Egyptian governorate of Assiut. El-Sisi, who is expected to win by a landslide, has recently claimed facing two assassination attempts, prompting critics to predict he won’t be making appearances in different Egyptian governorates.
Egyptians will cast their ballots domestically on 26-27 May.
