Egypt’s processed food exports to Arab countries have topped the list of international importers, reaching $3.276 billion in 2024, according to a report published by the Food Export Council (FEC) on Sunday.
FEC Chairman Mahmoud Bazan announced that food exports to Arab countries accounted for 54 per cent of total processed food exports in 2024, recording a 20 per cent growth in value, FEC’s statement added.
The European Union followed with exports valued at $1.168 billion, accounting for 19 per cent of total exports and showing a 32 per cent increase. However, non-Arab African countries saw a 10 per cent increase in export value, reaching $513 million.
Meanwhile, processed food exports to the US ranked second, reaching $330 million, accounting for five per cent of total processed food exports and growing by 42 per cent. Other global markets contributed $833 million, making up 14 per cent of total Egyptian food exports.
