Egypt’s processed food exports to S. Arabia grow 23% YoY in ’24

Egypt’s Food Export Council (FEC) reported on Sunday that Saudi Arabia has emerged as the top importer of Egyptian processed foods in 2024, with imports valued at $491 million, marking a 23 per cent growth rate from the previous year.

Sudan followed with $412 million, despite a 12 per cent decline, while Libya imported $333 million, achieving a 24 per cent growth. The United States ranked fourth with $330 million, reflecting a significant 42 per cent increase.

Other notable importers included Palestine ($299 million), the Netherlands ($259 million), Jordan ($247 million), Morocco ($209 million), Yemen ($202 million), and the UAE ($195 million), according to the statement.
