Egypt’s non-petroleum exports to Spain have risen by 77.6 percent to reach €177.4 million ($197.8 million) during the first quarter of the current year, Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry Tarek Qabil announced Tuesday.
Exports stood at €99.9 million in the first quarter of 2016.
Meanwhile, Egypt’s imports from Spain have dropped by 22.3 percent to record €256.1 million during the first quarter of 2017, compared to €329.7 million in the same period last year, Qabil said.
Ahmed Antar, head of the Egyptian Commercial Services Office (ECS), said that Egypt’s exports of fertilisers to Spain during the first quarter of 2017 have doubled €28 million.
