Egyptian Trade and Industry Minister Tarek Qabil headed Monday to Madagascar to participate in the 19th Summit of the COMESA Heads of State And Government.
The 19th Summit takes place form 17-19 October 2016 with the theme “Inclusive and sustainable industrialization”.
Qabil asserted that Egypt keens on enhancing the regional economic integration between members states as well as adopting inclusive regional commercial policies among the regional integration system.
He clarified that during the Summit, a number of major topics would be discussed notably the Navigational Line between Lake Victoria and the Mediterranean Sea (VICMED) project .
The VICMED project is expected to boost the movement of intra-trade between member states, accordingly, raising foreign trade rates.
The Summit addresses industrialization in a holistic way through focusing on all factors that influence and impact on industrialization such as infrastructure among others.
