Egypt’s Rabbit grocery delivery startup issues new bulk business

Egyptian e-commerce platform, Rabbit, has launched its new bulk business named Gomla, to meet the needs of customers that buy in bulk and offer them the cheapest prices, according to its statement on Tuesday.

The platform launched their new business amidst the global shift in consumer behavior towards bulk buying, especially in Egypt, which was resulted by the pandemic, inflation and the increasing price rates.

“Gomla caters to a new user segment, and brings more choice to existing users of our 20 and 60 minute offerings, it is essentially Costco sans the membership fee,” said CEO and Co-Founder, Ahmad Yousry.

Price products on Gomla are less than, or in line, with major supermarket chains, and customers will be able to enjoy the additional savings in transportation costs and added convenience of doorstep delivery.

Rabbit works directly with over 200 suppliers, eliminating middlemen and reducing margin leakage across the chain, it also able to ensure the authenticity of the sold products and that they meet applicable standards.

The e-commerce platform was founded in June 2021, launched in November of the same year, and has branded itself as a fast delivery startup, with deliveries being completed in 20 minutes, and offers a wide set of various products.
