Remittances from Egyptian expatriates surged to an all-time high of $29.4 billion in the first 10 months of fiscal year 2024/2025, marking a 77.1 per cent year-on-year increase, the central bank said Monday.
In January-April 2025 period, remittances jumped by 72.3 per cent year-on-year to $12.4 billion, compared to $7.2 billion in the same period of the previous fiscal year.
On a monthly basis, remittances in April 2025 rose by 39.0 per cent year-on-year to $3.0 billion, up from $2.2 billion in April 2024.
