Egypt’s Minister of Industry and Transport Kamel El-Wazir chaired the general assembly of the state-owned Holding Company for Road, Bridge, and Land Transport Projects to review its 2025/26 budget, recent performance, and future plans, the ministry said Sunday.
The company and its subsidiaries carried out projects worth more than 11.5 billion Egyptian pounds in the past fiscal year, covering high-speed rail, roads, bridges, Nile crossings, ports and work for the Industrial Development Authority, according to the statement.
El-Wazir praised the firm’s role in delivering national infrastructure projects and said the ministry is expanding the use of asphalt recycling in road maintenance to reduce costs, cut environmental impact and enhance sustainability. He stressed adherence to technical standards and deadlines, while continuing to upgrade equipment and train engineers and technicians to keep pace with developments.
The minister also reaffirmed government support for the holding company as a key executive arm of the state in transport and infrastructure projects, adding that the next phase will focus on maintaining strong performance, ensuring quality, and pursuing regional expansion.
The ministry highlighted that the firm’s staff also excelled in extracurricular fields, noting that the Nile Company for Roads and Bridges won the national companies’ championship in Ismailia on Sept. 14.
