Egypt’s SCZone inks $4.5m deal for new garment factory

Egypt’s General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) signed a contract on Monday with China’s Gold Star Fashion to establish a ready-made garment manufacturing facility in the West Qantara Industrial Zone with a total investment of $4.5 million.

The project will span 23,000 square metres and is expected to create 2,000 jobs. Gold Star Fashion, specialising in fashion design and garment manufacturing, aims to produce high-quality apparel at competitive prices for export.
