Egypt’s SCZONE launches Türkiye roadshow to court investors

Egypt’s Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) has kicked off its first investment promotion roadshow in Türkiye, aiming to draw Turkish firms in textiles, packaging, building materials, ports and logistics, the authority said on Monday.

SCZONE Chairman Waleid Gamal El-Dien met nine Turkish companies, including Uğur Plastik, Yünsa, Kale Group and VitrA, and held talks with Modern Karton, Fixa, and optics firms Mercan Optik and ECB.

He also led a roundtable with the Istanbul Textile and Apparel Exporters’ Association (ITKIB), whose members account for almost half of Türkiye’s textile exports, according to the statement.

Gamal El-Dien said the zone had already attracted nine projects in West Qantara worth $321 million, mainly in textiles and garments, along with a $2 million logistics venture run by an Egyptian-Turkish alliance.

He cited SCZONE’s investment incentives, skilled labour, low energy costs and free trade access as advantages that could help Turkish manufacturers cut costs and expand exports.
