Egypt’s Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) held a series of meetings with Chinese businesses in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province on Tuesday, aiming to attract foreign direct investment and deepen cross-border trade and logistics cooperation, the authority said.
SCZONE Chairman Waleid Gamal El-Dien met with executives from China’s SOHO Holding Group, which expressed interest in launching textile, tyre, and hardware manufacturing projects within the zone.
Gamal El-Dien also took part in a roundtable on cross-border logistics partnerships between Egypt, China, and the International Cooperation and Development Fund (ICDF). Secretary-General of the Nanjing Cross-Border E-Commerce Association Liu Yujian addressed the forum, citing strong Chinese investor appetite for SCZONE, thanks to its strategic location and favourable investment climate.
The meetings are part of SCZONE’s investment roadshow in China aimed at positioning Egypt as a key logistics and industrial hub linking Asia, Africa, and Europe.
