Egypt’s General Authority of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) marked the groundbreaking of an electronics manufacturing project by FBB Tech, in partnership with China’s Hisense Group, in the Sokhna Industrial Zone with an investment of $38 million.
The project spans 110,000 square metres and is aimed to produce one million units of electrical appliances annually, creating 337 jobs.
Chairman of SCZone Waleid Gamal El-Dien highlighted the strategic location’s integrated infrastructure, facilitating access to global markets through SCZone ports. He noted that 120 factories are currently under construction in SCZone, reflecting investor confidence.
The project targets 30 per cent of sales for the local market and 70 per cent for export to Europe and North and East Africa, reinforcing Egypt’s commitment to sustainable development and expanding its electronics industry.
