Egypt’s Sisi affirms strength of US ties, urges investment

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Monday reaffirmed the strength and depth of Egypt-US strategic relations, stressing Egypt’s keenness to enhance them across all fields, particularly economic, trade, and investment sectors.

During his meeting in Cairo with a delegation of American business leaders participating in the Egypt-US Economic Forum, Sisi noted that Egypt represented a large market with advanced and ready infrastructure to receive investments. He added that legislative reforms had been introduced to support efforts to attract foreign investment, with zones such as the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) offering full facilities for foreign companies and investors.

Sisi reviewed the extensive efforts undertaken by the Egyptian government as part of its economic reform programme, which have significantly improved macroeconomic indicators, boosted productivity, and created job opportunities.

He also pointed to the major investment opportunities available in Egypt, highlighting the country’s strategic geographic location, which makes it a gateway to Arab, African, and European markets. The President welcomed both existing and new US investments, stating that the government was ready to provide all necessary support and remove any obstacles to ensure the success of American businesses in Egypt, in recognition of the special nature of Egypt-US relations.

Sisi further stressed the state’s commitment to bolstering the role of the private sector in driving economic development.
