Egypt’s Sisi, Bahrain’s King condemn Gaza airstrikes, urge ceasefire
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the current chair of the Arab Summit, have condemned the airstrikes on Gaza, which have resulted in the deaths and injuries of hundreds of civilians. They called the attacks a blatant violation of international law.
The two leaders called for an immediate ceasefire and urged the international community to take action to protect innocent civilians in Gaza from the ongoing violence.
Both President El-Sisi and King Hamad reiterated their full commitment to the resolutions of the extraordinary Arab Summit held in Cairo on March 4, particularly the Arab plan for Gaza’s reconstruction. They strongly rejected any measures that could lead to the displacement of Palestinians and reaffirmed that the establishment of a Palestinian state based on the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, remains the only path to lasting peace and regional stability.
