Egypt’s Sisi, China’s CNCEC chief discuss expanding investment, soda ash project

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met on Sunday with Mo Dingge, chairman of China National Chemical Engineering Group Co., Ltd. (CNCEC), to discuss expanding economic and investment cooperation between the two countries, the presidency said in a statement.

Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with Chinese companies across key industrial sectors and praised CNCEC’s ongoing cooperation with Egypt. He also expressed the government’s support for the company’s planned soda ash production project, describing it as a strategic step toward achieving self-sufficiency and reducing imports for local industries.

Mo highlighted CNCEC’s extensive experience in the petrochemical sector and voiced the company’s interest in broadening its investments in Egypt.

Sisi welcomed the company’s plans, noting that Egypt offers a wide range of incentives for both local and foreign investors under its efforts to attract more foreign direct investment. He added that the government is ready to facilitate the implementation of the soda ash project, ensuring it meets the highest international standards.
