Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met on Saturday with Robert Maersk Uggla, Chairman of A.P. Moller–Maersk, to discuss expanding cooperation in green fuel production, maritime transport, and logistics, the presidency said in a statement.
Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly, Suez Canal Authority Chairman Osama Rabie, and Maersk’s Middle East and North Africa representative Hany El-Nady also attended the meeting.
Sisi praised Maersk’s efforts in developing green fuel projects for ships, saying such initiatives bolster Egypt’s role as a regional hub for the company’s container trade and sustainable energy operations. He also welcomed Maersk’s ongoing expansion at the Suez Canal Container Terminal in East Port Said.
Talks focused on strengthening cooperation in training, knowledge exchange, maritime services, and port operations. Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to providing a favourable investment climate and addressing any challenges facing Maersk, while encouraging the company to further expand its investments in the Egyptian market.
