Egypt’s Sisi instructs government to boost electric vehicle manufacturing
Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi directed the government to pay more attention to the electric vehicle industry.
The president tasked that government with establishing a regional centre for manufacturing and exporting electric cars through cooperation with global automakers.
El-Sisi’s directives came during a meeting with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and the ministers of electricity, military production, finance, the public enterprise sector, transport, and trade and industry, his spokesman Bassam Rady said.
The meeting covered the government’s strategy to transfer electric vehicle technology into the country, the spokesman added, and covered manufacturing, financial and commercial aspects.
