Egypt’s stock exchange back to regular trading hours on Sunday
Egypt’s stock Exchange (EGX) said on Wednesday the bourse trading sessions will open for normal operating hours as of Sunday 31 May.
The trading sessions of EGX and NILEX will operate from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm, instead of 1:30 pm during the holy month of Ramadan.
Banks in Egypt will also be back to work on Sunday after being closed during the Islamic Eid El-Fitr holiday.
Shorter than the regular, the official working day for the banks will be from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm for customers, and 9:00 am to 4:00 pm for employees starting next week, the country’s central bank said in a statement on Monday.
The central bank said the banks’ working hours have been shortened as part of measures taken to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
