Egypt’s stock exchange halts trading in 40 shares at opening
Egypt’s stock exchange (EGX) halted trading in 40 shares for 10 minutes on Tuesday after they plunged more than 5 percent.
Main index EGX 30 index sank 2.6 percent on opening, as a sell-off linked to fears around the spread of coronavirus continued.
Among the stocks that witnessed sharp declines were Ezz Steel which inched down 8.4 percent and Madinet Nasr for Housing and Development, which dived 9.6 percent.
