Egypt’s stock exchange indexes end lower, EGX 30 falls 1.16% on Tuesday
Egypt’s stock exchange’s (EGX) indexes ended lower on Tuesday, with the benchmark EGX 30 index sinking by around 1.16 percent to 11,234 points.
The EGX 70 EWI index of the leading smaller and mid cap enterprises (SME) lost 0.96 percent to 1,831 points, while the fixed-weighted index, EGX 30 Capped inched lower by 1.22 percent to 13,165 points. The all-embracing index, EGX 100 plummeted 1.13 percent to 2,732 points. Meanwhile, the equal weights index, EGX 50 fell 1.52 percent higher to 2,014 points.

Total market capitalisation had logged losses worth around 5.5 billion Egyptian pounds ($346.5 million) to close at 625.6 billion pounds on Tuesday.

Also on Tuesday, the trading value has reached 3 billion pounds approximately, while the trading volume has almost hit 836.3 million securities executed over 41,000 transactions.
