Egypt’s stocks close higher as benchmark EGX 30 surges 1.63% on Wednesday
Egypt’s stock exchange’s (EGX) indexes ended higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark EGX 30 index surging 1.63 percent to 10,602 points.
EGX 70 EWI index of the leading smaller and mid cap enterprises (SME) climbed 2.02 percent to 2,422 points, while the fixed-weighted index, EGX 30 Capped edged up 1.66 percent to 13,045 points. The all-embracing index, EGX 100 hiked 1.75 percent to 3,379 points. In addition, the equal weights index, EGX 50 gained 1.68 percent to 2,198 points.
Market Cap
The country’s market capitalisation has on Wednesday posted gains worth 9.2 billion Egyptian pounds ($586.6 million), ending the trading at 678.003 billion pounds driven by local investors’ buying appetite.

Trading value has approximately reached around 4.5 billion pounds, while the trading volume has almost recorded 522.281 million securities executed 54,476 transactions.
