Egypt’s Suez Canal Authority training centre receives international ISO accreditation

Egypt’s Suez Canal Authority chairman, Osama Rabie, witnessed on Tuesday the handover of the international ISO 17024 accreditation certificate to its Vocational Training Centre in Port Said from the Egyptian Accreditation Council (EGAC).

The accreditation follows President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s directives to prioritise technical education and strengthen the Authority’s human resources. Technicians in welding, electricity, mechanics, and carpentry will now receive certificates recognised by the EGAC, the International Accreditation Forum (IAF), the African Accreditation Cooperation (AFRAC), and the Arab Accreditation System (ARAC).

Rabie said the accreditation enhances global confidence in the technical skills of graduates from the Port Said centre and represents the first phase of a wider strategy to develop and accredit all Suez Canal Authority training centres, supporting the national economy with highly qualified personnel.
