Egypt’s Suez Canal Economic Zone eyes three green hydrogen partnerships with India
Egypt’s Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) is looking to sign three partnership deals with India for green hydrogen projects in the zone, said deputy CEO on Tuesday.
Under its 2020-2025 strategy, Waleid Gamal Eldein said the SCZone is focusing on the localisation of some major industries, most importantly the green hydrogen.
Gamal Eldein added that the SCZone is willing to receive new Indian investments in some of the zone’s target industrial sectors.
The SCZone has already signed several memoranda of understanding with India for green hydrogen cooperation, he said, expecting that they would come into effect in tandem with the COP27 United Nations Climate Change Conference, which will take place in Sharm El-Sheikh in November.
