Egypt’s Suez Canal revenues surge 20.6% y-o-y in July – official

Egypt’s revenues from the Suez Canal surged 20.6 percent year-on-year to $530.7 million in July, the head of the canal authority announced on Wednesday.

In July 2020, revenues amounted to $440.1 million.

A total of 1,670 ships passed the Suez Canal with a total net load of 105.6 million tonnes in July, compared with 1.424 ships of 89.4 million tonnes in the same month last year, said Suez Canal Authority’s chairman Osama Rabie in a press conference.
