Egypt to build its first plant to convert waste to energy in Giza
Egypt is set to build its first plant to convert waste into electric energy, said the Ministry of Military Production on Facebook on Saturday.
The project will be located in Giza’s Abu Rawash area, with a capacity of converting 1,200 tons of waste into 30 megawatts of electricity per day.
This plant will be the first of its kind in Egypt, with the goal of providing eco-friendly benefits to the country.
This is one of the initial steps taken to help the country convert to an environmentally-friendly waste management system.
The Ministry and Green Tech Egypt, a member of the Renergy Group Partners LLC, are cooperating to establish the project.
