Egypt’s trade balance deficit rose 18.3 per cent or $4.60 billion in July 2024, compared to $3.89 billion during the same month a year earlier, Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics (CAPMAS) revealed on Tuesday.
Egypt’s exports value increased 10.7 per cent to $3.54 billion during July 2024, from $3.20 billion for the same month in 2023. The increase was driven by higher exports of key commodities, including petroleum products which surged by 98.5 per cent.
However, Egypt’s imports value edged up by 14.9 per cent to reach $8.14 billion during July 2024, compared to $7.08 billion for the same month in 2023, the report mentioned.
