Egypt’s wheat reserves last for 4.3 months – supply minister
Egypt’s Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Ali Moselhy announced on Tuesday that the country’s strategic wheat reserves will last for 4.3 months.
Egypt, ranking among the largest wheat importers globally, anticipates the planting of around three million feddans of wheat this season.
The country also plans to acquire 3.5 million tons of local wheat in the forthcoming harvest, according to Moselhy.
He also stated that the strategic reserves of sugar and vegetable oils will cover the country’s needs for 5.3 months.
