Egypt’s Workers’ Emergency Relief Fund has disbursed 2.379 billion Egyptian pounds to support 441,000 workers across 3,999 establishments since its creation in 2002, the ministry of labour said in a statement on Sunday.
Between July and October 2025, the Fund allocated 61 million pounds to assist 18,000 workers at 29 companies, the ministry said following a meeting of the Fund’s Board of Directors, chaired by Labour Minister Mohamed Gobran.
The board reviewed the Fund’s financial position and the wage subsidies distributed under executive regulations governing support to affected workers and firms, the statement added.
Gobran said the Fund plays a vital national and humanitarian role, helping businesses recover from crises, resume full production, and preserve employment stability.
