EIB, Crédit Agricole finance France’s energy transition

The European Investment Bank (EIB) and Crédit Agricole have expanded their partnership, launching a €700 million financing package to support healthcare professionals and accelerate energy transition projects across France.

The initiative includes €400 million aimed at helping liberal healthcare professionals establish practices, particularly in underserved areas, with a focus on boosting female participation in the field.

At least €200 million is allocated to new practitioner setups, and €120 million supports women-led projects. Additionally, €300 million is dedicated to advancing the energy transition for businesses and the public sector.

This funding targets renewable energy production, energy efficiency, and sustainable mobility, enabling local authorities and SMEs to meet climate objectives.

Olivier Gavalda, Managing Director of Crédit Agricole S.A., emphasised the societal impact of the partnership, highlighting its alignment with Crédit Agricole’s commitment to regional development.

EIB Vice-President Ambroise Fayolle praised the collaboration for effectively addressing local economic and environmental challenges through targeted investments.
