The European Investment Bank (EIB) agreed to lend €100 million to SG Equipment Leasing Polska (SGEF Poland) to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
SGEF Poland, a unit of France-based Société Générale, will provide an additional €200 million in new loans. At least 20 per cent of the funding is earmarked for climate action, focusing on investments in low-emission vehicles, industrial machinery, and renewable energy.
EIB Vice President Teresa Czerwińska emphasised the importance of supporting SMEs and advancing EU climate goals through this agreement.
This marks the 10th collaboration between the EIB and SGEF Poland, which has already channelled over €630 million to Polish SMEs in 2023, contributing to more than 47,700 companies and nearly 450,000 jobs.
