El Sharkawy; Capital Market Nominee For Constitution Committee

Awni Abdel Aziz, Chairman of the Division of Securities at the Egyptian Federation of Chambers of Commerce, said Dr. Ashraf El Sharkawy – the Chairman of the Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority (EFSA) – has been nominated to be the capital market representative in the constituent assembly to draft the constitution. This comes after Dr. Hani Sarie Edin’s apology for not representing the capital market in the constituent assembly.

“The capital market has not yet been requested for announcing its nominees for the constituent assembly. Actually there is a possibility of not having a capital market representative inside the assembly.” Awni added

“Whether to have a representative or not shall be declared within the coming few hours.”

Worth mentioning, Dr. Hani Sarie Eldin had been the first member to quit from the previous constituent assembly which has been dissolved. Dr. Sarie Eldin had said his registration was due to the fact that the assembly failed to represent all sectors of the Egyptian society.
