Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi held a meeting earlier on Tuesday with Interior Minister Mohamed Ibrahim and a group of the minister’s aides to discuss the security situation in Egypt.
The meeting focused on security strategies, including training police officers abroad in order to raise their professional standards and learn about the latest technology in criminal investigations, said Ehab Bedawy, spokesman for Egypt’s presidency.
El-Sisi ordered security forces to increase their street presence and fight terrorism in accordance with the law and constitution, said Bedawy.
The meeting took place at the presidential palace in Heliopolis, where a series of explosions just a day before killed two police officers and injured six.
