The Egyptian Mineral Resources Authority (EMRA) is considering signing contracts with the National Bank of Egypt (NBE) and Social Fund for Development (SFD) so as to finance its ‘One Thousand Mines’ project within the coming week.
Dr. Abdel Aal Hassan Attia, EMRA deputy chairman, said the project includes 2500 mines located in Sinai desert besides Eastern and Western deserts.
“The project – Phase I will provide more than 5000 job opportunities. Phase I will start by next October.” Attia added
“After Phase II, there will be about 100000 job opportunities.”
