Egypt’s exports of engineering industries to record $796 million by the between January and April 2018 , chairman of the Engineering Export Council of Egypt Eng. Amr Abu Freikha said.
Thus the exports surged by 8 percent compared to $739 million in the same period a year earlier.
He told Amwal Al Ghad that the Engineering industries field is witnessing a growth of 10 percent since last year boosted by the balance of the market after the liberalization of the exchange rate.
“For this we predict that the engineering industries’ exports will see a big leap in the coming period,” he added.
Engineering Export Council mission is to enhance the competitiveness of Egyptian Engineering products by providing export-related services to enhance marketing capabilities, strengthen human skills, and eliminate obstacles.
There are a number of sectors that achieve high rates of export, including electrical home appliances, automotive components, cables, electrical and electronic industries, he added.
He pointed out that the Council is currently focusing on the growth of the sector’s exports to the West and East African markets, and plans to send three promotional missions to countries of Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana and Ethiopia during the second half of this year, in addition to strengthening its presence in the Arab and European countries.
