Eni to resume drilling at Zohr Field before Jan-end; says Egypt’s PM

Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly announced on Thursday that Italian oil major Eni will resume drilling operations at the Zohr gas field before the end of January. Speaking at a press conference, Prime Minister Madbouly emphasised the government’s commitment to accelerating exploratory drilling efforts to boost energy production.

“Eni is set to continue drilling at the Zohr field, with their drilling rig expected to arrive before the end of this month to start operations,” the prime minister said, underscoring the importance of expanding Egypt’s gas reserves. The resumption of drilling at Zohr is part of a broader strategy to increase exploration and production in Egypt’s oil and gas sector, ensuring a stable energy supply for the country’s future.
