Italian energy giant Eni is set to start drilling the sixth and last gas well in Egypt’s Zohr field in the Mediterranean Sea.
Petroleum sources stated that drilling ship Saipem 10000 moved to work area to start first phase of drilling the sixth well with investments estimated at US$4 billion.
Eni is set to start drilling works in the sixth well immediately after finishing the fifth well in order to complete the project according to the determined schedule.
The Italian giant plans starting production from Zohr field by the end of 2017 with the capacity of one billion cubic feet of gas daily to be raised to 2.7 billion cubic feet by the end of 2019.
