Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan discussed the political crisis in Egypt with U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon in a phone conversation late July 6.
The prime minister voiced his concern to the U.N. chief over the “stall of the democratic process by the military coup, which ignores the civil will, and urged all sides to act with good sense,” according to a statement from the Prime Ministry Press Center.
He also stressed the importance of staying away from all kinds of violence, clashes and incitement, emphasizing the restoration of the civil administration as soon as possible through elections.
