Ethydco develops new pipe coating

The Egyptian Ethylene and Derivatives Company (Ethydco), in collaboration with its partner Muharram Plast, has developed for the first time in Egypt the Polyethylene Steel Pipe Coating Black Compound, a groundbreaking new product for the local market.

This innovative coating applies a protective layer of polyethylene to steel pipes, enhancing resistance to environmental factors and corrosion. The development aims to extend the lifespan of the pipes and improve their efficiency in transporting crude oil and products within Egypt.

The introduction of this locally produced solution is expected to reduce reliance on imported materials, supporting the growth of the domestic market and contributing to strategic projects by conserving foreign currency and bolstering local manufacturing capabilities.
