EU approves €1.2b Polish scheme for green transition
The European Commission approved on Tuesday a €1.2 billion (PLN 5 billion) Polish scheme to support strategic investments aimed at advancing the transition towards a net-zero economy.
The initiative, backed under the State Aid Temporary Crisis and Transition Framework (TCTF), will provide direct grants to companies involved in producing essential equipment such as batteries, solar panels, wind turbines, and carbon capture technology.
On 9 March 2023, the Commission adopted the TCTF, aiming to foster support measures in sectors which are key for the transition to a net-zero economy, in line with the Green Deal Industrial Plan.
The scheme is designed to accelerate the green transition, with aid distributed by the end of 2025. The Commission deemed the measure necessary, appropriate, and aligned with EU state aid rules, contributing to the Green Deal Industrial Plan.
