The total volume of European Union’s investments in Egypt, including grants and loans from the European Investment Bank (EIB), amounts to €22.7 billion, said Egyptian official.
According to Alaa Ezz – Secretary General of Confederation of Egyptian European Business Associations (CEEBA) and Federation of Egyptian Chambers, the EU investments in Egypt account for around 81% of total foreign investments in the country over the past 3 years.
EU is the first commercial, investment and tourist partner with Egypt, contributing to more than 50% of foreign direct investments in Egypt, he noted.
Furthermore the Egyptian official stated that the trade exchange between Egypt and the EU recently surged to €23.4 billion, representing more than 32% of Egypt’s total trade with the world countries.
