European shares mixed ahead of ECB decision

European shares displayed mixed movements on Tuesday as investors awaited crucial economic data and a potential interest rate cut by the European Central Bank (ECB) expected on Thursday. The pan-European STOXX 600 index dropped 0.15 per cent by 8:40 ET (12:40 GMT).

Germany’s DAX fell 0.47 per cent, France’s CAC 40 rose 0.15 per cent, and Switzerland’s SMI was up 0.49 per cent. In London, the FTSE 100 was down by 0.41 per cent.
