European shares rise as investors await BoE rate decision

European shares rose slightly at the beginning of Thursday’s trading session, as investors awaited the Bank of England’s (BoE) interest rate decision with anticipation.

The pan-European STOXX 600 index increased by 1.75 per cent at 6:14 ET (10:14 GMT).

Spain’s IBEX 35 gained 0.72 per cent, while Germany’s DAX rose by 1.42 per cent. France’s CAC 40 saw a 1.95 per cent increase, and Switzerland’s SMI was up by 1.01 per cent.

London’s FTSE 100 also climbed, rising by 1.19 per cent.
