European stocks rebound on Wednesday, bond market stabilises

European stocks rose on Wednesday, recovering from sharp losses in the previous session as a selloff in longer-dated bonds showed signs of stabilising and investors awaited US job openings data.

The pan-European STOXX 600 was up 0.37 per cent at 7:46 a.m. GMT. Germany’s DAX gained 0.18 per cent, France’s CAC 40 advanced 0.31 per cent, Switzerland’s SMI rose 0.26 per cent, and the UK’s FTSE 100 edged 0.18 per cent higher. In contrast, Spain’s IBEX 35 slipped 0.27 per cent.
