European stock markets moved slightly higher in early action on Thursday, with investors remaining cautious ahead of interest-rate decisions from the European Central Bank and the Bank of England. Both banks are expected to keep their main interest rates on hold.
The Stoxx Europe 600 index rose 0.2% to 295.60, climbing back after closing at the lowest level since late April on Wednesday. Shares of Johnson Matthey PLC surged 7.7% after a well-received earnings report. The U.K.’s FTSE 100 index gained 0.2%, while Germany’s DAX 30 index inched 0.1% higher to 8,201.60.
