Egyptian Chemical Export Council (CEC) targets raising state’s exports to Iraqi Kurdistan with five-fold to reach 500 million Egyptian (US$26 million) pounds by 2020.
CEC Chairman Khaled Abu El Makarem said Monday that Egyptian exports to Kurdistan recorded around US$100 million.
He added that the Egyptian participants in Erbil International Fair succeeded to conclude a number of export contracts.
Around 50 Egyptian firms participated in Erbil Fair in a pavilion built on a n area of 912 square metres, the chairman noted.
Economic, trade, and investment ties between Egypt and Iraqi Kurdistan witnessed a great progress within the last few years, the official noted.
Abu El Makarem pointed out that a number of mission from Kurdistan is set to come to Cairo in order to visit Egyptian factories and agree on supplying Kurdish markets with Egyptian products.
