Farwell to 89-year old Egyptian actor Hassan Hosny

Today marks the death of the veteran Egyptian comedian Hassan Hosny at the age of 89 years old due to a sudden heart attack.

The very popular actor, known for El Nazer, El basha telmiz and Zaky Chan, has moved to Dar El-Fouad Hospital’s intensive care, where he died at 1:30 in the morning.

The funeral took place on Saturday at his family graveyard on Cairo-Fayoum Desert Road in the attendance of many Egyptian actors.

Born in 1931 in Cairo, he had an artistic career that spanned over 50 years’ experience in theatre, cinema, and drama.

Hosny received many awards, the most prominent was the Faten Hamama Excellence Award he received from the 40th Cairo Film Festival.
