Finance Minister, Dutch Ambassador Discuss Economic Growth

Finance Minister Momtaz al-Saeed met on Saturday 29/9/2012 with Dutch Ambassador in Cairo Gerard Steeghs to discuss Egypt’s economic growth and the government’s policies to overcome economic problems.

Momtaz briefed Steeghs on efforts to offset the budget deficit and the latest developments in the negotiations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

The government is working on two principal strategies; spending cuts, especially on fuels, and raising the national income through reform measures to be carried out in a program currently being discussed with IMF experts, said Saeed.
