Finance Ministry: No Reconciliation With Weapons, Drugs Smugglers

A high-ranking source with the Ministry of Finance denied reports published in newspapers about the Minister of Finance’s approval of reconciliation with weapons and drugs smugglers.

The source said that according to the customs and income tax evasion laws, the ministry has only the right to reconcile with those, who evade customs and income tax.

The source also pointed out that the Finance Minister issued a decision to delegate head of the Egyptian Tax Authority to examine the requests filed of those, who evade customs and income tax and wanted to reconcile.
