Financial literacy becomes extremely important – EGX official

The current economic climate in Egypt has made the development of strong financial literacy knowledge among citizens as extremely important, state news agency MENA cited a senior official at the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) as saying on Sunday.

Mohamed Zohier, Head of the Financial Culture Department at the EGX, said the exchange is participating in the 55th session of the Cairo International Book Fair (CIBF) 2024 for the fifth year in a row, saying the event offers a great opportunity to raise financial awareness and offer participants on the available investment openings. For this, Zohier said He sets of age-appropriate educational finance books are being presented by the EGX pavilion at the book fair, demonstrating the enormous public interest the CIBF is seeing.

In a separate note, the EGX official stated that the real estate and gold investments saw an increase as a result of the economic crisis and rising inflation. Zohier added that investing in the EGX is considered a great investment opportunity.
